Envicool Launches BattCool 5.0: Heat Island Elimination, Low Noise, High Efficiency for Next-Generation Large-Scale Energy Storage

On June 23, at The Smarter E Europe 2026, Envicool launched the BattCool Energy Storage Full-Chain Liquid Cooling Solution 5.0 – delivering over 80 kW of cooling capacity within a standard 20-foot energy storage container, and providing full-scenario thermal management for customers worldwide.

 

As energy storage projects continue to scale up globally, with 587 Ah, 625 Ah and other high-capacity battery cells gaining rapid adoption, project stakeholders are placing increasing emphasis on capacity per unit area, system energy efficiency, and total lifecycle operating costs.

 

In response to these industry trends, Envicool has independently developed the BattCool Energy Storage Full Chain Liquid Cooling Solution 5.0, which integrates features such as heat island elimination, low noise, high energy efficiency, and resilience against wind, sand, snow and rain. BattCool 5.0 delivers stable operation across a wide temperature range from -40°C to 55°C, with noise levels 5dB(A) lower than conventional systems and annual energy savings exceeding 30%. Powered by advanced high-capacity cooling technologies, it provides worry-free, full-chain, full-scenario, and full-lifecycle thermal management protection for large-scale energy storage systems (ESS).

◆ Optimized Airflow Design PreventsHeat Island Effects

 

The unit features a front air intake and top air discharge design. By optimizing airflow distribution, it effectively reduces heat accumulation caused by hot air recirculation – eliminating the impact of heat island effects on ESS operation. The product is designed to fit standard 20-foot energy storage containers with a compact structure that frees up more space for high-capacity system deployment.

 

◆ Low-Noise Operation for Greater Deployment Flexibility

 

The unit incorporates a three-stage noise reduction approach, combining proprietary high-efficiency fans and heat exchangers, optimized airflow paths and vibration isolation, and intelligent speed control. Operating noise is reduced by 5dB(A) compared to conventional systems – supporting rapid project site selection even in noise-sensitive areas.

 

◆ Full Inverter Technology and Free Cooling Deliver AEER ≥ 4.8

 

The unit features full inverter control technology and hybrid free-cooling technology that intelligently switches between pneumatic heat pipe and dry cooler modes. It precisely adjusts operating strategies based on ambient temperature changes, achieving an annual energy efficiency ratio (AEER) of ≥ 4.8 – helping customers further reduce operating costs and improve the overall economics of their ESS.

 

 Built for Global Deployment – Withstands Sand, Dust, Snow, and Ice

 

To address the challenges of snow and ice accumulation faced by energy storage projects in cold regions, the unit features a built-in fan design with automatic snow-melting and de-icing technology – minimizing the need for frequent manual intervention. The product is also designed to resist sand, dust, and corrosion, enabling reliable deployment across a wide range of environmental conditions worldwide.
